IRISH COFFEE

Black coffee
1 teaspoon/4 g sugar
1 large measure of Irish whiskey
2 teaspoons/10 ml double cream

Wine glass

Heat your glass up, then begin
To pour the hot black coffee in.
Add some sugar now, and stir
(White or brown, as you prefer).

Then the whiskey you should pour;
Take a spoon, and stir some more.
Pour the cream on, taking care
That it all stays floating there.

To make the layer smooth and thick,
Here's a clever little trick:
Take the spoon and bit by bit,
Pour cream down the back of it

Sip the coffee through the cream,
Then you'll know why people seem
To hold this brew in such esteem!
